ABOUT THE AUDIO BOOK COMPANY
The Audio Book Company is one of the first companies of its type in the United States. We first began producing quality recordings for the public, primarily on 78 rpm and 33-1/3 rpm vinyl records in the early fifties These were often released under the Literary Records label. In the beginning these audio recordings were distributed to the blind. However, it wasn't long before we began offering for sale and rental both abridged and unabridged recordings in retail outlets and through the mail. Later, in the seventies, our recordings became available on audio cassette. Our tradition of quality continues today. We stand behind every CD and cassette we produce so you can be assured of many hours of enjoyment.
You can find an early history of the Audio Book Company here: A History of 16-RPM Records, Part Two Audio Books by Mike Dicecco
